2. Scope and Acceptance
This License Agreement applies to the ExplainThisDoc mobile application (the "App") and any related services or website content provided with it. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to this License Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
3. License Grant
Subject to your compliance with this License Agreement, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, solely for your own use.
4. Restrictions
You must not, and must not attempt to:
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, or create derivative works of the App (except where such restriction is prohibited by law);
- bypass, disable, or interfere with security, usage limits, or credit mechanisms;
- use the App for automated bulk processing, scraping, abuse, or load testing without prior written permission;
- distribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise make the App available to third parties.
5. Credits, In-App Purchases, and Refunds
Some App functions may require credits. Credits may be purchased via Apple's App Store. Payment processing, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms and policies. The provider does not process your payment card data.
6. User Content and Responsibility
You are responsible for the content you submit to the App (for example, extracted text from documents). Do not submit content you do not have the right to use or share, or content that violates applicable law.
7. AI Output Disclaimer (No Advice)
The App may generate AI-based explanations. These results are provided for informational purposes only. AI results may be incomplete, incorrect, or misleading. You remain responsible for verifying important information. The App does not provide legal, tax, medical, or financial advice.
8. Availability and Changes
The App and its features may change over time, including improvements, removal of features, or temporary interruptions. No guarantee is given that the App will be available without interruption or that a specific feature will remain unchanged.
9. Intellectual Property
The App and all related rights (except third-party components) are owned by the provider or its licensors. No rights are granted to you other than the license expressly stated in this Agreement.
10. Third-Party Software and Icon Licenses (Open Source)
The App uses third-party libraries and icon sets, including open-source software. Such components are licensed to you under their respective license terms. Where required, copyright notices and license texts must be preserved.
Phosphor Icons (via the "phosphor-react-native" package) are provided under the MIT License. The license text is reproduced below.
11. Warranty Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the provider is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from or related to your use of the App. Nothing in this Agreement limits liability where such limitation is not permitted by applicable law.
13. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. The provider may suspend or terminate access to the App if you materially breach this Agreement or misuse the App.
14. Governing Law
To the extent permitted by law, this Agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of Austria, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protection laws remain unaffected.
15. Changes to This Agreement
The provider may update this Agreement to reflect changes in law, the App, or operations. The current version should be made available in the App and/or on the website.
